Firewall and network issues
Corporate and enterprise networks often have firewalls or content filters that can prevent upload to or installation from Diawi. This is one of the most common causes of failures in enterprise environments.
Symptoms
- Upload fails or times out when uploading from the office network
- On iOS: an "Unable to download app" popup appears after some time
- On Android: the download fails or times out
- The same upload or installation works successfully on a different network (e.g. personal Wi-Fi or cellular)
What needs to be allowed
For Diawi to work, the device or computer must be able to reach:
- Diawi's servers — to upload the app binary and to download it (
.ipaor.apk), and on iOS, the installation manifest (.plist) - Apple's servers (iOS only) — iOS contacts Apple to validate the app's signing certificate on first launch
If your network uses a firewall or proxy, make sure it does not block:
- HTTPS traffic to
*.diawi.com - Upload and download of
.ipa,.apk, and.plistfiles (some content filters block these file types) - HTTPS traffic to
*.apple.com(for iOS certificate validation)
Workarounds
If you cannot change the firewall configuration:
- Switch to a network without restrictions (personal Wi-Fi, cellular data)
- On Android, download the
.apkfile on a computer and transfer it to the device via USB
