Getting started with Diawi
Diawi lets developers share iOS and Android apps with testers, team members, and clients through a simple link — no app store needed.
1. Upload your app
Go to diawi.com and drag & drop your app file onto the upload area, or click to browse for it.
Accepted formats:
* iOS: .ipa file (or .zip containing a .app)
* Android: .apk file
Optionally, you can set a password or add comments for your testers.
For best results, log in before uploading: this gives you access to the Dashboard where you can manage your apps, track installations, and re-enable expired links.
2. Share the link
After the upload completes, Diawi provides a link and a QR code. Share either with your testers via email, or any messaging tool.
3. Install on device
Testers open the Diawi link or scan the QR code on their device and follow the instructions on the installation page.
iOS
- The link must be opened in Safari — other browsers and in-app webviews will not work
- Tap Install when the popup appears
- The app installs in the background — check the home screen (or the App Library on iOS 14+) for the app icon
- On first launch, the device needs an internet connection for Apple to validate the app's certificate
- Enterprise apps (In-house): the developer must be trusted in Settings > General > Device Management
- Development apps on iOS 16+: Developer Mode must be enabled on the device
- If the same app is already installed from an App Store, uninstall it first
Android
- The link can be opened in Chrome, Firefox, Samsung Internet, or most other browsers
- Install unknown apps must be allowed for the browser used — see Settings > Apps > [browser] > Install unknown apps
- Tap the downloaded
.apkfile to install - If the same app is already installed from the Play Store, uninstall it first
